ITA Marks Its Silver Jubilee with the Launch of 12 Children’s Books at Alhamra Arts Council!

ITA’s 25th Anniversary Celebrations! Book Launch – Read a Story Make a Story!

The Idara-e-Taleem-o-Aagahi (ITA) as part of its series of silver jubilee anniversary celebrations launched 12 new children’s books on January 29th at Al-Hamra between 10 a.m – 5.00 p.m. ITA is honored to serve the children, teachers and communities across Pakistan since 2000. What better way to celebrate than to develop lively content for foundational learning together with a makers arts learning kit Read a Story Make a Story-Parho Kahani – Banao Kahani! The celebration is in a grand partnership with the School Education Department (SED) Govt. of Punjab, Room to Read, Lahore Arts Council, Bank of Punjab and the Punjab Institute of Languages and Culture ( PILAC), the Sanjan Nagar Public Education Trust , SED schools of Punjab and DeafReach

It was a packed day full of fun and festivities as children came to listen to the 12 stories, read and participate in interactive activities to help them grow, create, think and imagine . ITA’s mobile kitab-gari redefines the purpose of vehicles in Pakistan! It invites children to explore the engaging and delightful books, mind games and videos. The event was not just limited to children: Teachers and educators but to 250 civil servants’ probationers from the Civil Services Academy who fully participated in learning the art of reading and storytelling with expression to support learning in Pakistan. It was refreshing to see civil servants being trained for promoting foundational learning in their administrative and planning routines! With endorsement and encouragement from Mr. Khalid Nazir Wattoo, Secretary School Education Department . Government of Punjab to promote libraries and culture of reading ITA teams are committed to a unique collaboration.

The 12 books were beautifully launched jointly by the Chief Guest Honorable Mrs. Nausheen Adnan Parliamentary Secretary School Education, Special Guests Ms. Beenish Fatima Sahi, D.G. PILAC, Shakeel Ahmed Bhatti Chief Minister’s Focal Person for Provincial Advisory Committee, Saeed Ul Hassan FCDO Punjab and Professor Saeed Shafqat, Executive Director Centre for Public Policy and Governance FCC University.

The Parliamentary Secretary enjoyed different segments of the Read a Story Make a Story Kit as she used the needle craft with colourful wool on shapes enjoying the handson approach of engaging with fine motor skills with maths heritage language and arts altogether!

Many prominent personalities visited the daylong launch including artist Ms. Nazish Attaullah, Ms. Sarwat Mohiyuddin, Ms. Rubina Tariq Board member ITA , QAED’s team Ms. Naila Tayyab (AD )and Ms Sadia Sarmad the story teller par excellence from Sunno Kahani Meri Zubani (SKMZ) who read stories for workshop and children’s activity sessions. ITA’s team delivered the creative daylong learning activities with children, teachers and civil servant probationers in a festive atmosphere of celebrating learning for the 21st century!

Together we are excited about a promising future for Pakistan with many more books for the children of Pakistan in collaboration with All Our Partners and with support from our cohost the Lahore Arts Council!
