Jingles in the jungle is as beautiful and melodic a book as it’s name. It starts when a camel accidentally comes to the jungle and all the animals are flabbergasted. They haven’t seen any animal who is that big and have a hump with a tiny tail. Then they ask questions from the camel and soon become acquainted with the camel. They all sing, dance and enjoy their surroundings.
Book reading is always an amazing experience but, it becomes more beautiful and exquisite when the book is closer to nature. And Jingles in the Jungle is full of nature. Rumana has so beautifully depicted the jungle that anyone who reads that instantly wants to go to any jungle. Her musical depiction of chirping of birds and sounds of animals is amazing.
The book also gives a new way of looking at our world. A world in which everyone is equal and everyone accepts each other’s differences and live with love instead of fighting over them. You cannot read Jingles in the Jungle without thinking about John Lennon’s song “ Imagine “ in which he dreams of a peaceful world.
The beautiful illustrations in the book are also noteworthy. They are so artisanal and attractive that you keep looking at them for a long time once you see them.
This book is not only for children rather it is for everyone who wants to get closer to the nature. It is worth reading for the imaginative experience it gives you is amazing.
