Children's Literature Festival and USAID Pakistan-funded Pakistan Reading Project (PRP) held a storytelling and origami session with students in one of ITA's adopted schools in Korangi, Karachi yesterday. The sessions were organised under Mobile Bus Library Program of PRP that aims to address the challenge of bringing diversified, quality and attention grabbing reading material to the students of elementary grades in selected locations.
These mobile bus libraries provide readers with the opportunity to learn about different cultures, people and places. The mobile bus libraries are an essential tool through which children of Pakistan can be empowered with diversified knowledge.
Mobile bus libraries also overcome the fundamental problem of access to library services particularly for children from low income families. Through a mobile bus library, access to quality reading material can be easily ensured which in return will help in promoting the habit of reading.
