Pakistan Learning Festival

PLF Islamabad 2015

Idara-e-Taleem-o-Aagahi (ITA), Oxford University Press (OUP) in collaboration with Lok Virsa, National Institute of Folk and Traditional Heritage, Islamabad are organizing a 2-day Children’s Literature Festival (CLF) for the children of Islamabad, Rawalpindi and nearby areas on the 2nd and 3rd of October2015 at Lok Virsa, Islamabad

The CLF founded by Baela Raza Jamil and co-founded by Ameena Saiyid started from Lahore in 2011. In the last 4 years, CLF has held successful events in Quetta, Peshawar, Bahawalpur, Islamabad, Karachi, Lahore, Swat, Sahiwal, Multan with an attendance of over 380,000 children and adults.
The Children’s Literature Festival is a free public event. It is an exciting initiative aimed at promoting reading, creativity and critical thinking among the children of the country. It is a torch-bearer campaign; an equalizer for all school systems to address the challenges of learning, reviving a culture of reading, and generating content for textbooks and supplementary materials.

An exciting and fun-filled programme is planned for the CLF Islamabad 2015. It will feature talks, interactive readings, discussions and workshops by well-known children’s authors, poets and artists. The festival also includes sessions on creative writing, bookmaking, poetry, comics, digital stories, writing book reviews as well as book launches, book fair, theatre, cartoon and much more
