PTI MPA and former minister Shaukat Yousafzai held a storytelling session with students at Government Primary School Shaikhabad, Peshawar on April 26 th , 2016.He read the story ‘Ittefaq May Barkat’ about a father struggling to keep his three sons united. The students enjoyed throughout as he did imitations of the characters in the story and interacted with children in a healthy discussion around the story’s theme.

Shaukat Yousafzai also talked to teachers and school management about the quality of education provided at the school and promised to speak about providing better quality education during the next Assembly session. He also urged Education Minister KPK Atif Khan to visit schools even more often. As a part of the enrolment drive initiated by the provincial government, he also enrolled 6 students in the primary school.

He said, “When local leaders will visit schools for activities such as this, not only will it inspire the children to read and learn more, but it will also benefit us in realising what issues teachers and students face, and what can be done to boost learning levels of students.”
